The sizing of your sling is very important. If you order the wrong size, we will gladly exchange for the correct one. If you fall in between sizes, choose the smaller of the 2 sizes.
How to measure your Shoulder-to-Hip Size:
If you are pregnant, take this measurement across your back and include your bra size when indicating your measurement to seller.
- Get a long piece of string (to measure the exact number of inches after measuring) or a loose fabric measuring tape. Stand up straight and start out at the point where your arm and shoulder meet on your left shoulder. Place tape in the center of your shoulder, not at the front.
- Pull the tape across your left breast and down to your right hip bone (line it up with the center of your armpit in the middle of your side). Make sure you get the top of your hip bone and mot the middle or the bottom - if your sling rides too low, it will pull on your back.
- Take a deep breath after you have the tape on the right points. There should be enough slack on the tape to rise and fall with your breath, but not enough to make the tape fall in between your breasts. You should not be able to feel the tape pressing on your body. For most women the number of inches will fall between 20-30".
- Take the same measurement three times, and use the number that you got at least twice for your final measurement.
It is very important that the tape goes across your breasts vs. between them.
If you are large breasted, you may want to go a size up. If you have any questions, call me or email me and we can discuss.
